This little book was hand made by William Hawkes for his baby sister, Catherine, later known as Kate Digby. Inside the front cover he has written Wm Hawkes Esq. 33 Richmond St.

In the back is written : William Hawkes wrote this book for his sister Catherine - having found it tossed about after she went home to the country.
